How can I tell if my coupler is worn out?

If you are not sure where your noise is coming from, you can try to isolate the noise by removing the supercharger belt and seeing if the noise is still there. If the noise went away, the noise is most likely coming from your supercharger. You can also rock the drive pulley for the supercharger back and forth to see if there is any play. If there is play, your coupler is worn and needs replaced.

What happens to the supercharger coupler?

Over time, the holes in this coupler become egg shaped and this causes the rattling and knocking noise you hear in your supercharger at idle.

Why should I buy this coupler instead of a cheaper one?

Some competitors are providing a part which can not meet the demands the part requires, but that only makes sense because polymers is not their field of expertise. You can buy from the competition, just make sure they guarantee it.
